Major Funding for the Project from the Jagiellonian University
We are excited to announce that our project ‘Recovering Europe's Parliamentary Culture, c.1500-1700: A New Comparative Approach to Political Assemblies in the Commonwealth of Poland-Lithuania and the Kingdoms of the British Isles’ is being supported by a research grant awarded to Professor Dorota Pietrzyk-Reeves by the Jagiellonian University under its Excellence Initiative – Research University programme, as part of the Heritage Research Groups scheme. The grant will enable the establishment of an international research group bringing together distinguished historians, political scientists, and literary scholars to reassess the political assemblies and parliamentary cultures of early modern Europe through a comparative study of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the kingdoms of the British Isles. It will bring together scholars from Poland, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States to collaborate through a series of research colloquia, conferences, workshops, and research visits.
